Clean pants and camping

Had it easy up to now really. Log cabins, bars and showers, etc. After drying me wet boots n cleaning me undies it was time to go. 160km of hard terrain with deep sand, big boulders and endless pot holes and slippery gravel. The bike was all over the place and it seemed like it would never end. Then quite suddenly came Reykavik. Hadn't seen tarmac or other vehicles for 4 hours or so then 3 lane's of traffic, buildings, bars, shops and people. Felt very strange as I have been away from the 'real world' for a little while now. As quick as it came it went and it was back to the empty dirt roads. Arrived in a little coastal village called Grundarfjord about 7pm and found the campsite. The farmer was trying to finish the shower unit when I arrived, and the wash basins had no water or drainage. On the bright side there is a toilet and it's not raining. Had water on the bike so set up camp and made a cup of tea and cooked a pasta meal. Rain expected in the morning. Off to bed in a bit.
